Description
Everyone experiences guilt now and then, but for some people, it’s a constant companion. Many times, they can’t even identify a specific reason for feeling blameworthy, but a sense of condemnation robs them of joy, assurance, and confidence. We must realize that this is not how God designed guilt to operate in our lives.
In this message, Dr. Stanley gives several reasons why we experience guilt, the consequences of not addressing it, and how we can be released from this heavy emotion by:
1. Understanding the substitutionary death of Christ
2. Facing guilty feelings honestly
3. Identifying the causes of guilty feelings
4. Confessing and repenting when necessary
5. Choosing to accept God’s full forgiveness
6. Dealing with the consequences of sin
7. Using our experiences to help others see how they can be free of guilt
No matter what the source of your guilt might be, release is possible. It all begins when you fully understand the substitutionary death of Jesus. He paid the penalty for your sins, and the moment you accept His offer, your offenses—past, present, and future—are forgiven. There is nothing more you need to do.
Discover the root of your guilt and find freedom and peace in the forgiveness of Christ.
