Gratitude comes easily when the sun is shining, and the only place we see hardship is in the rearview mirror. But when the rain is pouring and hardship is a present-tense reality, gratitude is usually the first casualty of our pain and confusion.
However, thanksgiving is a practice that we cannot afford to discard when the going gets tough. In this message, Dr. Stanley encourages us to remain thankful in the midst of adversity. With gratitude comes a whole host of benefits—greater awareness of His presence, increased trust, joy, decreased anxiety—that energize us when we feel beaten down.
Combatting adversity is draining. Refuel with thanksgiving.
